The best product used in facial filling, which over the years has been shown to be most effective is Hyaluronic Acid (HA). AH is a biopolymer composed of Glucuronic Acid and N-acetylglucosamine. The synthetic product used as a fill is in the form of a viscous gel, much like the biological one, which is normally found in our body, in the synovial fluid (joints), vitreous (eye) and connective tissue (below all skin). Because it is very similar to the biological, practically, it does not present adverse reactions, only a small redness on the first day of the application.

Over time, the skin is aging, and one of its main features is dehydration and loss of collagen. With this, come the facial wrinkles in places already expected. The injection of AH acts as a fill, and because of its great capacity to attract water, there is a better internal hydration, with consequent re-establishment of the turgor of the skin.

AH is used to fill Naso-genial wrinkles (on the side of the mouth), Glabelares (between the eyebrows) and Peri-labial wrinkles (also for lip augmentation). It can also be employed to soften acne sequelae. The procedure is done in the office, and only topical anesthesia can be used, or anesthetic blocks. The product lasts around one year. When re-applied, it will stimulate the formation of collagen, and over time will decrease the amount of product introduced, naturally reducing facial wrinkles.
Recent studies have shown an excellent result in the association of AH with Mesenchymal Stem Cells (removal of infra-umbilical fat by liposuction), mainly reducing deep wrinkles. Over time with a progressive improvement of skin tone and decrease of expression lines.

Wrinkles should also be combated from the outside to the inside, with daily creams, lasers and peels. And the wrinkles resulting from muscular action are also treated with botulinum toxin (Botox), which many people confuse action with filling with AH.

There is no magic formula, a unique treatment, or permanent, since aging is progressive and constant. But, the basic skin care associated with the resources of Dermatology and Plastic Surgery has presented wonderful results. However, beware of the excesses! Common sense should always come forth, and some wrinkles always stay, to tell us our story (as some say).
